So, you are planning a trade show and you are covering your bases: trade show promotions, you have your booth ready, you know your products and services inside out, your staff has matching apparel and you got your promotional items in line. However, for a lot of trade show organizers, the most difficult decision they can’t come up with is what type of promotional item they are going to give away. Since there are a whole lot of possible products to give away, this easily becomes the hardest decision to make when it comes to trade show promotions. Usually the decision comes down to two variables: cheap and quick. To avoid falling in this trap, make sure that you make selecting your promotional items part of your overall strategy and include it in your budget. You can use these products before, while and after the trade show booth, so do not underestimate their marketing power. If you have access to the trade show attendee list you might want to send them a small promotional item so they know you are going to be there. The item doesn’t have to be anything fancy as long as it includes your name and slogan. You can entice the attendees to wear your promotional item to the show and they will get a better gift if they do so and approach your booth. Talk about smart trade show promotions. As they do this, you can talk to them about your business and how it will benefit them and perhaps land a few sales. Finish off by giving them a third comestible promotional gift, thanking them for their visit. As long as you carefully make promotional items part of your overall strategy, you are dramatically increasing the chances that these will create a lasting impact on your most important clients.
